Picasa 3 ROCKS!

// October 8th, 2008 // Comments Off // General

Graphics handling programs aren’t typically much fun to use, as in slick, cool, stylish… Picasa has pioneered in that arena since version 1.

They’ve really outdone themselves with the latest version (3). Go grab this right now! Make sure you let Picasa handle the JPG files on your computer, giving it permission to be the default display program for those files (and it is programmed with the common courtesy to ASK you if you want this, as it is installing).

VERY powerful browsing capabilities, with a free space to upload them and share them with the world to boot.

Get it from my favorite download site, filehippo.com: http://www.filehippo.com/download_picasa/

FastStone Image Viewer 3.2

// July 5th, 2007 // Comments Off // General

You should test drive this tool. “Viewer” is a bit deceptive because this is an editor, but it is fast, and it functions as quickly as XP or Vista’s own image viewers. In the default fullscreen mode, moving your mouse over to any of the four screen edges slides in toolbars offering all the most commonly used functions.

Because of its speed and genius for efficiency, FastStone eliminates a step or two or three in my most common drudgery photo collection maintenance tasks. Rapidly, this slick little download (3.44 MB; a portable version which runs from your USB stick is another free offering) is becoming my go-to viewer and editor of photos.

I just had to share it with you!
